A client of mine asked for a logo, and design to promote her new Etsy business. She hand-makes bandanas and neckerchiefs for pets. Inspired by her own dog, I illustrated her head for the client to place on fabric, apparel, and her overall brand. She also uses the “Oakroo” logo for her website and hand-made products.

As a Merchandising Lead at American Eagle, I’m also asked to create marketing to help the store’s business and growth on social media. I designed 11x14 signs that are placed by the fitting rooms and registers to promote styling sessions with customers. I also created business cards that associates give to shoppers at checkout to help grow the store’s Instagram following.

My clients wanted personal cars prints to showcase, and gift for their loved ones. Each vehicle was designed using the tools on Illustrator, including the Pen and Gradiant Tool.

Ward Communications, currently known as Kure Creative, is located in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. This agency designs brand identities, advertisements, and social media marketing for businesses within the greater Boston area. Clients include restaurants, ice cream shops, and car washes. Ward was also involved with McGovern Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Newton, and Hyundai in Brockton. As a Junior Graphic Designer and Social Media Coordinator, I was in charge of promoting our clients using social media, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, I designed social media graphics that would help increase sales and popularity for these businesses. I also ran their pages, and made connections between our clients and their customers. All the work that is shown was designed through Adobe Illustrator. I used the client’s brand to design promotional graphics. I also illustrated their themes, costumes and backgrounds for seasonal events. The original seagull and water drop characters, the hot coffee cup, and the client's logos were not designs of my own.

Solmetex is a company located in Northborough, Massachusetts that manufactures an Amalgam Separator. It is mandated in dental offices to ensure our personal safety and help the environment. My job as an intern was the work with the Director of Marketing and Sales and design the marketing for the premier of their new logo. I have worked on the design of multiple manuals, flyers, brochures, and other stationary for the company and their sales on the Amalgam Separator.

A recent client, Jacob Peters currently owns a detailing business. He is also a full time student, and plans to be a mortician. The intention was to just design a business card to help him with further promotion. And then I thought to myself, “Why not go even further than that?” I decided to design a brand that would completely benefit his passion, and help him earn greater business from his customers. What started as a business card turned into designing a logo, letterhead, envelope, identity sheet, and a shirt mock up to further promote his detailing business. The goal is to maintain a consistent theme for his business in order to be recognizable for existing customers, as well as attract new ones. Part of keeping up with a good business is design, which I hope will be successful in promoting JP Auto Detailing.

When you see a generic brand of any product, the packaging is not expected to be the highest quality. This generic brand of peanut butter is one that I found to be unappealing. The typeface seems too “chunky” for a creamy peanut butter. The colors aren’t bad, but the placement of the label is quite strange, as it starts from the left, and finishes with the nutrition label on the right. Viewers were also not fond of the floating peanuts, using the term “awkward” and “misplaced”. Stop and Shop does keep the same theme of packaging for all products. However, I felt that redesigning the peanut butter labels were a start to how they can be appealing for all customers.

The book on the shelf presents a chapter that comes from the novel, Einstein’s Dreams, by Alan Lightman. The goal was to create a book with design and type that best represents the idea or style of the story. This specific chapter conveys a message of sadness and discontinuation. The writing consists of a couple at dinner, talking about the same problems and lack of change in the following years. Life seems dull, and time moves very slowly when no change is made. With that being said, I decided to express these emotions by only using grayscale values, and letting type and photography tell the story. The photos were taken with a DSLR camera, as I picked scenes that portrayed feelings of misery. I also played with the look of type to keep eyes moving around the pages. 

The McAuliffe Center at Framingham State University was looking for a new logo to represent their educational program. As a team, the Graphic Design II class got together to create the look of design and type that best represents what they do. After three months of work and process, which each brought in our own designs to their office for their choosing. My idea of this was to present the circle of learning  and coming together for a specific type of knowledge or idea. In the end, this was not the winning logo, but they were very impressed by the ideas of each student. Each was a great first experience of really designing the best logo for a client.

This vintage travel poster is an entry for the Annual Grand Circle Travel Poster Competition. The challenge is to choose a specific culture of their travels and create a vintage poster design for their showing. I chose the Maori Culture from the island of New Zealand. The mountains and the tribal masks were what caught my eye, and I decided to design that using the pen tool from Illustrator.  I'm very happy with the overall look and will be sending this in for entry.

Vera is an organization that builds and improves justice systems for fairness, safety, and strength for the community.  They wanted a logo that would promote a specific program for those with disabilities in search for justice. The idea of the logo is based on supporting the crime victims of the Vera Organization and aiming them towards the right direction for justice. The logo provokes a more positive outcome for the victims by giving them the guidance they need to have access to their services.
